Keyboard vs Piano for Beginners: Which Should You Buy?
Short answer: For a total beginner on a budget, a 61-key keyboard is enough for the first few months. If you’re serious, an 88-key digital piano with weighted (hammer-action) keys and a sustain pedal is the better buy, because it builds the finger strength and control that transfer to a real piano. Acoustic pianos sound best but cost more, need tuning and take space.
